Renewal of Vows

Re-declare your love for one another in front of your family and friends and show your on-going love and commitment as a couple

Whether you are celebrating 10,15, 30 or 60 years as a couple or have only been married a short time but changes in your life have meant that you would like to say “I do” once more, a renewal of vows is the perfect occasion.

Whatever your reason, renewing your vows is a chance to reflect, celebrate and look forward to your future together.

You may choose to repeat the vows you said on your wedding day, or you may wish to make new promises to each other having found new ways to express your love for one another.

Whatever you choose, I will create a personalised ceremony, which is bespoke to your requirements. I’ll take time to get to know you and ensure your ceremony is as intimate as you wish. Moreover, I’ll work closely with you throughout, taking your advice and direction as well as offering new ideas to guarantee your day is just the way you want it to be.

Ideas

for your Ceremony

Why not add a little individuality to your ceremony and have a symbolic action. There are many ideas to choose from and I’m happy to chat with you and give you more details to make your ceremony personal to you. Your wedding vows do not have to include certain legal wording with a Celebrant Ceremony giving you so many more options for your big day.

Common Questions

Regarding Ceremonies

What is a wedding celebrant?

A celebrant is a professionally trained official, with the skills and experience to create and deliver a personal ceremony just for you. A celebrant ceremony has no restrictions in terms of format or style. You can quite simply have the ceremony in the venue and location of your choice and no licence is required.

I believe that no two couples are the same and your wedding ceremony is probably one of the most amazing and beautiful moments you will share with each other. I make sure I listen carefully to your requirements and I'm open to any suggestions you may want whilst also able to offer some ideas you may not have thought of. It's your day and your ceremony and I am here to ensure it is exactly as you want it to be on the day.

Is a ceremony legally binding?

A celebrant ceremony is not legally binding and you would need to be legally married by a Registrar.  This can be done either before or after your celebrant ceremony in a short and simple service at the Register Office. I am totally flexible with timings for your ceremony because I only do one ceremony a day.

What happens during a ceremony?

There are no strict rules on the format of a ceremony but usually they are around 30 minutes in length. Why not include friends and family within your ceremony. You may wish to have music, readings and to exchange your wedding rings. Writing your own personal vows is a beautiful way to really make your ceremony extremely personal to you and I can help you with ideas on writing these.. I also offer a certificate signing at the end of your ceremony if you wish and included in the price is a souvenir script of your ceremony.

Why choose a celebrant ceremony?

A celebrant ceremony is a great alternative and will ensure your wedding is unique and personal.

With many couples now looking at more unusual locations and wishing to choose their own words and vows to say to each other, a celebrant is a far more accommodating choice. Furthermore, if you have dreams of getting married overseas but wish to celebrate with family and friends on your return then a celebrant ceremony can be a beautiful way to recreate your wedding day.

She helped us relax and feel confident the ceremony would go smoothly

Ruth was amazing from the start and we very much trusted her advice and experience. Being professional and friendly she helped us relax and feel confident the ceremony would go smoothly and had the significance and meaning we wanted. We loved our ceremony and Ruth allowed us to make it exactly what we wanted, including hand fasting and our dog being the ring bearer. We would highly recommend Ruth to everyone. Thanks so much for being a part of our dream wedding.

You are a wonderful lady who we are so glad to have met. Thank you again for everything.

We couldn't have selected a better celebrant

Despite the fact we planned our entire wedding from Australia, Ruth managed to prepare and deliver a ceremony that our friends and family commented ‘summed us up perfectly’ and we couldn’t have agreed more. It’s clear from all aspects of the preparation to the Big Day itself, that Ruth is passionate about her work and we couldn’t have selected a better celebrant. If you are looking for a love filled unique ceremony then I would highly recommend Ruth.

The ceremony was so personal and intimate

Ruth, you conducted a beautiful and personalised ceremony for us at Lapstone Barn, which was the cornerstone of our wedding day. Although we don’t live in the UK and weren’t able to meet you before the ceremony, you made the effort to really get to know us over the phone and made the ceremony very intimate and personal. It was a real pleasure dealing with you. A number of people commented on how the ceremony was so personal and intimate. Thanks so much again.

It was such a beautiful ceremony

Ruth performed our Wedding Ceremony after such a long wait due to lockdowns (2 years and 26 days after our original date to be exact). It was such a beautiful ceremony. Ruth was great throughout the whole process and really helped capture us both within her words.

She was also extremely caring and calming on the day when we were getting super stressed about one of our wedding party guests being late! Thank you so much Ruth for making our special day so perfect. 1000% recommend! ❤️
